How'd it come about?

This is a tune that I wrote around 2006. I'd gotten the drum sample from somewhere or another and just started jamming a guitar track on top of it, trying to give it an edgy feel. I think the lyrics came from something I'd written down in a notebook I kept back then. My friend Josh came over one day and liked it so much that he wanted to add some vocals on the second verse. When mixing, I felt like the vocals needed to be crunchy during the verse and smooth during the chorus, so I ended up doing some layering with different types of distortion and time settings. I never really finished writing the song or properly mixing it,... but that's how it goes.
